Cllr Charlotte Gerada is a Labour Councillor for Central Southsea ward in Portsmouth and was elected in May 2021. Charlotte is Leader of Portsmouth Labour Councillors and Opposition Spokesperson for Climate Change & Greening the City and Housing & Homelessness.

 

Charlotte is responsible for ensuring Portsmouth City Council adequately responds to the climate emergency, does all it can to achieve net zero carbon emissions and finds ways to enhance sustainability and biodiversity.

 

She is also a member of the Transport, Environment and Community Safety Scrutiny Panel, which scrutinises the council’s policies in that area and a member of the Employment Committee.

 

Charlotte is a representative for the Port Advisory Board and is the Women, Children & Domestic Violence Champion for Portsmouth City Council.

 

In addition to council roles, Charlotte works for a health charity, is a school governor for Brambles Infant School and Nursery, is a co-founder of Pompey Parklets and Platform Women’s Network and an active trade unionist.

 

Charlotte runs a monthly ward surgery with Cllr George Fielding, on the fourth Saturday of the month (excluding August) at St Margaret’s Community Church Hall, Highland Road, Southsea, PO4 9DD from 10am to 12 noon.
