Over £21 million announced for flood defenses in Portsmouth, from Southsea seafront to protecting wildlife in Farlington Marshes.

The Chancellor has announced a significant amount of funding to upgrade HM Naval Base Portsmouth, creating jobs in manufacturing and technology.

In April, the basic and new State Pension will increase by 4.1%, meaning pensioners in Portsmouth will gain up to £470 each. The government is also increasing the Carer’s Allowance weekly earnings limit from £151 to £196. Alongside this, Carer’s Allowance will increase by 1.7%, rising to £83.30 per week.
