Portsmouth Labour Party Standing up for you and our city
Portsmouth MP Stephen Morgan visited Fratton Station to see progress on the major refurbishment to the footbridge connecting it to Goldsmith Avenue.
“I was pleased to visit Fratton Station to see the progress being made on the footbridge refurbishment.
“I have been contacted by constituents concerned about the disruption being caused by the planned works, so it was good to get the opportunity to raise these with Network Rail and receive assurances about when the works will be completed.
“I will continue to monitor the refurbishment works and ensure local people’s voices are heard.”
In his previous role as Shadow Rail Minister, Mr Morgan played a leading role in announcing Labour’s bold reforms to deliver better, more reliable rail services for passengers by bringing train operators into public ownership.
Services across a wide area of southern England and East Anglia come back into public control by Autumn 2025, benefitting residents in Portsmouth.
Mr Morgan continues to meet regularly with rail stakeholders and Portsmouth Football Club to progress plans to build a footbridge from Fratton Station and Fratton Park.
