AQUIND Limited intend to make an application for a Development Consent Order (DCO) which would authorise the construction of a new marine and underground High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) power transmission link between the south coast of England and Normandy in France (to be known as AQUIND Interconnector).

If a plan is approved by the government, cables will be laid through Portsmouth to transport energy from France to an electrical interconnector at Lovedean.

Stephen Morgan MP has been liaising with the council over the proposals, listening to resident and community views, lobbying the Government over concerns and supporting people make objections as part of the decision-making process.
