Cllr George Fielding was elected in May 2018, then re-elected in May 2022.

He says “I’m not just your councillor, I’m a proud, resident of Central Southsea. I walk its streets every day and truly understand the issues that matter to you because, like you, it’s my home.”

Elected in 2018, George won the seat from the Lib Dems after decades of their control, because residents wanted a stronger, more active voice. Since then, he has focused on delivering real results. From monthly ward surgeries to knocking on doors every week, George is visible, accessible, and ready to act on the issues you raise.

“I enjoy the variety of being a councillor and value working closely with my ward colleague, Cllr Charlotte Gerada and our local MP Stephen Morgan to get things done.”

George is passionate about supporting local businesses along Albert Road, Highland Road, Fawcett Road, and Winter Road:

“These vibrant streets are the heart of Central Southsea, and I’m proud to stand up for them every day.”

Outside of formal council roles, George is a local Legal Executive, a school governor for Priory School, is a Co-Founder of Pompey Parklets and is an active member of the GMB Union.  He enjoys living in Southsea with his partner and two cats!
