Asghar – otherwise known as ‘Shah’ has severl appointments to external bodies, including for the Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education and is Deputy for the Third Sector & City of Service Champion role for Portsmouth City Council.
Outside of formal councillor roles, Shah works for British Gas, set up a food bank that’s supported hundreds of local families and is an active member of GMB Union. Shah also runs regular litter picks in the north of the city, is a trustee for a local community centre and started a community cafe for young people to gain hospitality experience and for older residents to socialise.
