Patrick lives in Eastney and Craneswater Ward and believes the experience and skills he has accumulated over a lifetime of public service will be of significant use as a councillor representing its residents.  Patrick left the Royal Navy in 2012 after 34 years of service, then led a Portsmouth-based Armed Forces charity.  He retired from that in 2024 and now uses his skills and experience to support his local community in a number of ways.

He has served as a school governor of Milton Park Primary School and is a volunteer director of a management company looking after more than 112 Eastney homes.

Patrick is passionate about the NHS and local health services and is a member of the Trafalgar Practice Patient Participation Group. He also uses his skills to assist local MP Stephen Morgan with his work helping Portsmouth South constituents with a wide range of issues.

Patrick says, “I believe the provision of quality public services is vital in sustaining and enhancing the quality of people’s lives, including through education and by creating greener and safer spaces”.

Patrick supports his elderly Mother to live independently locally and is acutely aware of the issues older people have negotiating the social care system.

Cycling daily around Portsmouth and regular sea swims are how Patrick relaxes.
