Stephen's School Cuts poster

Having attended Portsmouth schools, Stephen and our local Councillors are committed to getting a better deal for them.

Visiting almost every one in the constituency during his first year, our city MP Stephen has seen the challenges they face and knows the Government is turning a blind eye to them. He has raised the real terms funding cuts of over £3 million by 2019, in the House of Commons and is pushing ministers to ensure our schools are properly funded.

Stephen Morgan MP said:

“Portsmouth continues to be left behind by this Government. Class sizes are up, but schools have had their budgets repeatedly cut. Our teachers and parents know the reality of the Tories’ failure to invest in our children’s futures. They deserve better and I won’t rest until schools in Portsmouth are properly funded.”

Over 400 pupils have already visited Stephen’s office on Albert Road and gone to Parliament.

Cllr George Fielding added:

“I’ve spoken to lots of teachers living in my ward who are worried about the cuts to education in our city. They face teaching bigger class sizes without support staff and regularly have to purchase their own teaching supplies to teach with. I’m backing Stephen’s campaign against school cuts and have a poster up in my window!”

Support our city’s schools and back Stephen’s ‘Portsmouth Against School Cuts’ campaign.
